Scope’d: The Weeknd

So this weeks Scope’d is on a up & coming R&B from Toronto by the name of The Weeknd. He dropped a dope ass free project earlier this summer entitled “House Of Balloons” and it hasn’t left my iPod or PS3 at all. So scroll down to find out a little more about The Weeknd and too peep some of his songs out.

The Weeknd is a Toronto-based R&B singer named Abel Tesfaye (born , 1990). Songs recorded under The Weeknd name first leaked in late 2010, though the identity of the individual behind the project was initially unknown. The Weeknd released a nine-song album, House of Balloons, on 21 March 2011. His style has been classified as “Prog RnB” and “Hipster RnB” based on sub-mainstream status and “hipster” followers. The album is a part of a trilogy which includes Thursday and Echoes of Silence, to be released in the summer and autumn respectively.

So House Of Balloons was the first of the trilogy and i’m anxiously awaiting Thursday to drop. Alot of buzz was gained by The Weeknd after Drake posted a lyric from one of his songs as a tweet then linked to House Of Balloons. Here’s some of the tracks off House Of Balloons and the Trust Issues remix he did and a link to the tape itself. Support good music people and don’t forget about where you heard about The Weeknd first.
